Love knows not distance, and Teresa and Phil are a beautiful example in this inspiring engagement video. Their entire beginning sprinkled with quick impressions, missed connections, secret hopes, and separated by oceans, an irresistible pull was enough to ultimately bring them together.
As the love story goes, Phil left London to go work at an international school in Thailand. Over two trips he got to know Sam, who was from Victoria and a friend of Teresa’s. Sam (aka Tank) showed Phil pictures, and eventually introduced him to Teresa over Skype. Though secret sparks of attraction were already present, nothing serious could come of it. As luck would have it, some months later, Teresa’s sister and friends came to London to study. Together they would often Skype home, often with Phil in tow. The fascination grew. As if by psychic connection, Teresa decided to visit Europe while Phil decided to visit Canada. When Teresa arrived in London, Phil got in a day of quality time with the group before having to leave on his own adventures. Their first personal meeting was sadly too short. Again, like deja vu, upon returning to Victoria, Teresa and Phil were presented with only one evening to be together; an evening that would change everything. Determined to break the cycle, Phil decided to surprise Teresa in Kelowna and spend a few more days with her. After three magical days together, Teresa returned the favour by flying to Vancouver to spend Phil’s last night in Canada with him. What followed was a relationship that spanned many time zones and grew inside many patient months, counting the days until they could finally be together again.
We decided to tell the love story of how they met in a similar fashion of how they got to know each other: scattered glimpses, fleeting moments, and a so-close-yet-so-far longing to be together. Today is the day where they finally come together after a long 9 month wait, meeting by the ocean that has separated them. As they get ready to meet and go through the city, each reflects on specific moments in their relationship leading up to the present. These fragmented clues weave the evolution of their story. Upon finally coming together, Teresa exclaims ‘I really feel like our life can start now!’ after which flashes of happy adventures ahead build into a crescendo.
